Welcome
The Cheadle Academy Sixth Form supports our students, and the young people of Cheadle and the surrounding areas, in progressing from school to either university or employment, offering both vocational and academic routes.
Students benefit from a combination of formal taught lessons, combined with dedicated study periods and one to one mentoring. Enrichment is a very important feature of life at The Cheadle Academy Sixth Form. University taster days, apprenticeships conventions, team building days, bespoke work experience, annual residential visits and charity work are just a few of the opportunities available to our students. We have developed strong links with local businesses and higher education institutions in order to assist our students in making the next step. We are a community who nurtures academic success.
We welcome and encourage visits to the Sixth Form in term time to see how our Sixth Form can enable you to achieve the best possible outcomes.
We know we provide a great Sixth Form for all of our students...but why just take it from us? Here’s what others have to say…
“Leaders have high aspirations for the students in the sixth form. They know their students extremely well and are able to offer bespoke, targeted support to help them achieve. Students' outcomes are good...As a small sixth form, leaders are able to monitor students' performance closely.”
-OFSTED 2019
“I personally chose the Cheadle Academy Sixth Form due to its warm community. Teachers already know you well and this makes them able to support you in a way that is tailored to you. There is no end to the support that is given, and there is always someone to turn to when you need help whether that be other students or teachers. The new found independence teaches students to take hold of their own learning while gaining skills needed for the future. Visits to universities and information sessions make university less daunting, however you are also shown other paths if university is not for you.
-Maddie Carsley, Year 12 Student
The Sixth Form has offered me a chance to study the subjects I love in a safe, inclusive and inviting environment. The Sixth Form gives students the chance to surround themselves with a team of experienced and considerate teaching staff, all of whom are truly devoted to helping me achieve my absolute best in all forms of my academic life. Whether it be personal statements, university applications or help with homework, the staff here can always be relied upon when in need. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time and experiences here at the Sixth Form and would highly recommend it.”
- Pete Walford, Year 13 student
