Student Attendance
To encourage strong attendance habits, we have organised a rewards-based challenge for the next half term.
The Challenge: Between the February half term and the Easter holidays, there are 25 school days. We are encouraging every student to attend every single one of them.

Why School Attendance Is So Important
- Every day of learning counts – Lessons build on each other, and missing even a day can leave gaps that are hard to catch up on.
- Better attendance = better achievement – Pupils who attend regularly perform significantly better in assessments and coursework.
- Supports strong routines – Attending school each day helps children develop consistency, resilience, and positive habits for life.
- Builds confidence and social skills – School provides daily opportunities to interact with peers, join activities, and feel part of the community.
- Improves wellbeing – Being in school gives pupils access to support, structure, and trusted adults who can help if challenges arise.
- Prepares pupils for their future – Good attendance is linked to higher success in further education, apprenticeships, and employment.
- Reduces risk of falling behind – Persistent absence makes it harder to keep up academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Shows commitment and responsibility – Regular attendance teaches values employers look for: reliability, punctuality, and engagement.
