The Cheadle Academy

The Cheadle Academy recognises its legal duty under S175 Education Act 2002 and the 1989 and 2004 Children Acts and takes seriously its responsibilities to protect and safeguard the interests of all children. TCA recognises that effective child protection work requires sound procedures, good inter-agency cooperation and a workforce that is competent and confident in responding to child protection situations.

Parents / carers should know that the law requires all academy staff to pass on information which gives rise to a concern about a child’s welfare, including risk from neglect, physical, emotional or sexual abuse. The safeguarding team will seek, in general, to discuss any concerns with the parent/carer, and where possible inform them of the referral to Staffordshire Safeguarding.  This will only be done where such discussion will not place the child at increased risk of significant harm.

Our safeguarding team meet regally to review academy practice and to quality assure our processes and procedures to ensure we are delivering the best possible care to the students at The Cheadle Academy
