The Cheadle Academy

Super Science Tuesday at The Cheadle Academy

July 2017

It was Super Science Tuesday last week at The Cheadle Academy and ‘back to school’ for a number of parents of students from local primary schools,  as they discovered just what their sons and daughters have been getting up to on Friday morning Transition visits to The Academy!

Part of a very full and varied Transition Programme, detailed by The Academy’s Principal Neil Jamieson, and reaching out to students across Years 3 to 5, Science lessons are a firm favourite with visiting students.  The wonder and spectacle of hands-on experiments bring an excitement to learning and the experiments carried out by staff, students and parents at the event, were no exception!  The evening had allowed parents and students to engage with a learning environment that is ‘seriously fun’.

Visiting parents were also able to talk with parents who are members of The Academy’s thriving and wonderfully supportive PTFA and who have children currently studying at The Cheadle Academy. As one parent said, ‘it’s this contact with The Academy, from Year 3, that personalises learning and ensures that students feel safe and happy about making what is a big transition to secondary school.’  The Academy is looking forward to welcoming everyone to a very special Open Evening on Tuesday 26th September.
