Cheadle Sixth Form College, new and thriving!

Cheadle Sixth Form 2018 ResultsNot quite one year old, and The Cheadle Academy’s Sixth Form College has today celebrated high achieving A Level and equivalent examination results: 61% A*-C demonstrating considerable focus and application.  Principal Neil Jamieson said, ‘these results show the character of our students, they are fantastic ambassadors for this new and thriving Sixth Form College and we are proud of each and every one of them’.

Amongst the particularly high achievers are Jack Adams, with an A in Philosophy, and Bs in both History and Geography, Jack is looking forward to studying Philosophy at Keele University.  Also Keele-bound is Cleo Ball, with Bs in History and Psychology and PM in Applied Science, Cleo will be studying Psychology. Eve Reynolds who attained Bs in Sociology, History and English Language is off to Derby to study Education.

Leader of Sixth Form, Laura Allsopp also has every reason to be proud of the first cohort to go through The College, ‘last year there wasn’t a Cheadle Sixth Form College and today, I couldn’t be more delighted for our wonderful students.  I am particularly proud of the progress that they have made since joining us, from what was for many of them their alma mater, and delighted that everyone will be going to university or will be in full time employment/apprenticeship’.

Students spoke enthusiastically of their experiences at Cheadle Sixth Form College, citing the tremendous support received from Mrs Allsopp and her colleagues, both in academic and pastoral terms; agreeing wholeheartedly with the recent comment from Ofsted that, ‘sixth-form provision is well led and managed and, as a result of the quality of teaching, current students are making strong progress’ (Ofsted 2018).
