The Cheadle Academy hosts Seventh Annual Arts Festival
July 2017
Such a fun day of brilliant Arts activities was held at The Cheadle Academy. In its seventh year, and with an intriguing theme of ‘Dark Tales’, the Arts Festival included innovatively crafted collage work , drama and music and wonderfully creative culinary artwork too!
Students came from partner primary schools and were from Years 3 and 4. Their verdicts on the day ranged from, ‘awesome’ to, ‘beyond my wildest dreams!’ which the organisers considered praise indeed! The Faculty of Creative Design lead, Lisa Coles, said, ‘this has been such a creative day. These students are amazing, very enthusiastic and showing very real ability.’ Mrs Coles, who has been at The Cheadle Academy for 17 years, says that she continues to be very excited by the range and depth of creativity demonstrated by students in our local primary schools.
That this talent is nurtured and progressed to great results was seen very clearly in the standard of artwork and photography on display at The Cheadle Academy last week during the Faculty’s Art Exhibition. Jordanna Brookes’ work was one of many that caught the eye, not least because of the link to local culture.
