The Cheadle Academy

At The Cheadle Academy, we envision a future where every student is equipped with the skills, knowledge, and resilience to navigate and thrive in the ever-evolving world of work. Our careers program is rooted in our school values to foster courage, curiosity, kindness, and grounded individuals, ensuring our students are not only prepared for their careers but also for the profound impact they will have on their communities and beyond.

Courageous in Career Pursuits:

We value courage and encourage our students to embrace challenges and learn from failures. Our careers program provides a safe environment where students can explore diverse career paths, take risks, and build resilience. Through hands-on experiences and real-world projects, we empower students to confidently pursue their passions and overcome obstacles in their career journeys.

Curious and Lifelong Learners:

We nurture curiosity by instilling a love for learning and continuous self-improvement. Our students are encouraged to explore various industries, engage in career research, and stay informed about labour market trends. We provide resources, workshops, and employer opportunities to help students discover new interests and develop a growth mindset, preparing them to adapt and succeed in a rapidly changing world.

Kind and Inclusive Leaders:

Kindness and inclusivity are at the heart of our community. We teach our students to value diverse perspectives and collaborate effectively with others. Our careers program emphasises teamwork, empathy, and social responsibility, ensuring that our students are prepared to contribute positively to any workplace. We promote volunteering, community service, and peer support initiatives that reflect our commitment to creating a better world for all.

Grounded Individuals:

We celebrate authenticity and encourage our students to stay true to their values and beliefs. Our careers guidance helps students identify their strengths, interests, and goals, fostering self-awareness and confidence. We provide personalised support to help each student chart a career path that aligns with their unique identity and aspirations, ensuring they lead fulfilling and meaningful lives.

By developing courageous, curious, kind, and grounded individuals, we prepare our students to make a positive impact not only in their own lives but also in the lives of others. Our vision is to create a community of empowered individuals who are ready to lead with integrity, inspire change, and contribute to a better future.

Careers Provision for Year Groups at The Cheadle Academy:

We aim to provide each year group with a tailored careers program that meets their specific needs, building on the knowledge and skills gained during each year at The Cheadle Academy. These programs are reviewed annually during the summer term, ensuring they stay relevant and impactful. Many of our focus areas are aligned with achieving the GATSBY benchmarks, helping us offer high-quality careers education.

Each term, we use the 360 diagnostic tool to assess and refine our approach, ensuring we meet the needs of all students and identify areas for further development. Our careers pathway outlines the journey every student takes during their time at the academy, helping us track external business encounters and maintain consistency across all year groups.
